Asymmetric Biz Cult Episode 1: Who We is

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Well this is our first effort on trying to figure out what we are doing.. the adventure of figuring this out is probably what it’s all about… So we go so far as to talk about aesthetics.. in relationship to a James Joyce and a Thomas Mann… We also talk about surrealism and dada, and its relationship to our work.. Which of course veers off into the subject of psychedelicsKen Kesey, Hunter S Thompson, The Electric Acid Cool Aid Test.. I mention a blog entry I had done on Timothy Leary… which you might wanna check out..

This all relates to our personal stories.. our adventures at Mass Art, my adventures in SIM… inside of which we talk a little about illustration, graphic design, and painting.. there differences, and a bit of the psychology of them…

From here we venture off into the “new epoch” which is a lot to do with what I’m calling the “age of the guerrilla’s” which is what this podcast is supposed to kind of help tune you into…. I mean this is what we think is really exciting.. This idea that inside of a new existential relationship to the market place a new art form will become possible.. an art that is more serious.. perhaps more avant guard.. this kinda thing; uncompromising.. this is what we are fundamentally trying to enable… this is what we are trying to get into the vanguard of… And really this is the center of it all..

In doing this we touch on the democratic strategist Joe Trippi.. who was an important part of the Dean campaign of 2004…. was that the proper year? I believe we must mention David Weinberger.. (From who’s JOHO blog I first found out about podcasting) who was a part of that campaign and did an amazing presentation on blogging that you can check out as a part of C-Span’s Digital Futures series… We talk a little about ideas like “the long tail” and um… I even go so far as to talk about the Pentagon Grand Strategist Thomas Barnett… all of which having to do with the “guerrilla epoch” thang.

I’m not sure how.. exactly this came about. . but I know that somewhere in there I touched on Terry Gilliam (on of my favorite directors) and his
film Brazil
